About The Position

The Manager, Supply Chain directs and coordinates personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies. The role also plans and prepares production schedules for manufacturing pillows and mattresses, performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Requirements

• Four or more years of related experience in materials management and production planning or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions to assess current and future material availability, and prepare market analysis reports.
• Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance with company policy.
• Develop and install clerical and office procedures and practices; study workflows, operation sequences, and office arrangements to assess whether new or improved office machines should be installed.
• Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
• Create master schedules that establish operation sequence and lead times to meet shipping dates based on sales forecasts or customer orders.
• Analyze production specifications and plant-capacity data, and calculate manufacturing-process, tooling, and staffing requirements.
• Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
• Plan the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for production workers.
• Expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust schedules to address unforeseen conditions.
• Prepare production reports.
• Prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
• Direct and coordinate personnel involved in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
