About The Position

The Manager, Supply Chain directs and coordinates personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies. The role also plans and prepares production schedules for the manufacture of pillows and mattresses, performing these duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Requirements

Four or more years of related experience in materials management and production planning or a related field.

Responsibilities

Prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices.
Analyze market and delivery conditions to assess current and future material availability, and prepare market analysis reports.
Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Develop and implement clerical and office procedures and practices; study workflow, operation sequences, and office layouts to assess whether new or improved office machines should be installed.
Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
Create master schedules that establish operation sequences and lead times to meet shipping dates based on sales forecasts or customer orders.
Analyze production specifications and plant-capacity data, and calculate manufacturing processes, tools, and human-resource requirements.
Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Plan the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations to guide production workers.
Expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust schedules to address unforeseen conditions.
Prepare production reports.
Prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
Prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
