The Manager, Supply Chain Management position provides Supply Chain/Material Management (SC/MM) representation in support of Business Unit and Business Development activities. This position is directly responsible for effectively support the SC/MM functional organization to develop and document strategies, plans, and processes to manage the supply chain for integration into the Program Management plan. Under minimal supervision, the Manager, Supply Chain Management works directly with Program Management and may act as the primary customer contact for the Supply Chain portion of the program activities. This team member also represents procurement on the program integrated program teams (IPTs) and interface cross functionally in the resolution of material status, problems or issues. This position reports to Senior Manager or higher. Essential Functions: Manage individual(s) typically consist of experienced professionals or lower-level supervisors or associate managers. Lead, direct and review the work of direct report(s) who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Have hiring, firing, promotion and compensation authority within own organization, in accordance with management review and approval. Assemble and lead integrated cross functional team(s) within assigned program(s) while interacting with supplier(s), supply chain director, program managers, functional managers, and customers to achieve subcontract cost, schedule and technical objectives. Support the Supply Chain portion of development and production proposals, including planning and execution of affordability, supplier quality and other supplier performance improvement initiative, being submitted to Government and Prime Contractor programs. Support negotiation of subcontracts and assist in the development of supplier baseline program plans including development of supplier budget and schedule baselines, consistent with program plans. Prepare presentations and lead teams in presentations to peers, customers, suppliers and managers. Establish operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function. Focus is on short-term operational plans (e.g. less than 1 year). Provide measurable input of new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall functional results. Define and negotiate task objectives, scope description and completion criteria for specific and broad activities. Coordinate multiple activities simultaneously and to make real-time plan adjustments in response to problems and unexpected interim results. Flexibility to work extended hours may be required. Up to 15% business travel. Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
