As our company continues to grow, so does the scale and complexity of our supply chain across co-manufacturing, logistics, and an expanding SKU portfolio. The Manager, Supply Chain Finance - Logistics & 3PL will serve as the lead finance business partner to Logistics, Customer Operations, and Warehousing. This role will own the financial planning, reporting, and decision support needed to manage freight, distribution, warehousing, and related supply chain costs. Operating across carriers, third-party logistics providers, distribution centers, customers, and internal teams, this manager will drive cost visibility, billing and contract compliance, network analysis, and productivity. The role will balance transportation and warehouse cost with service, inventory, customer requirements, and working capital. This position will help establish a scalable Logistics Finance and audit capability by creating reliable reporting, strengthening controls, recovering overpayments, and turning shipment-level data into clear recommendations for senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful experience in logistics finance, supply chain finance, operations finance, transportation analytics, or FP&A.
  • Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, freight and warehousing economics, inventory, working capital, and business case development.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing transportation rates, fuel surcharges, accessorials, modes, lanes, carriers, warehouses, or 3PL contracts.
  • Experience building or operating freight audit, invoice compliance, or contract compliance processes is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, food, manufacturing, retail, or another distribution-intensive business strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex workstreams, influence cross-functional decisions, and coach or develop others.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets and financial modeling skills; experience with large shipment-level data sets is required.
  • Executive-ready communication skills and the ability to translate complex logistics data into clear recommendations.
  • Experience with BI, transportation management, warehouse management, ERP, and planning systems is a plus.
  • Comfort operating in a high-growth environment where data sources, processes, and organizational structures continue to evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range plan for outbound freight, inbound freight, warehousing, distribution, and related logistics costs.
  • Develop forecasts based on volume, weight, customer and channel mix, modes, lanes, transportation rates, fuel, accessorial, warehouse activity, network changes, and service requirements.
  • Lead monthly and weekly performance reporting, explaining results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods and identifying required actions.
  • Establish logistics financial KPIs and dashboards, including cost per case, cost per hundredweight, cost per mile, cost per load, warehouse cost per case, service, utilization, and productivity measures.
  • Connect logistics performance to gross margin, customer profitability, working capital, inventory, and cash flow.
  • Provide forward-looking insights on emerging cost, service, capacity, and network risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze transportation rates, fuel surcharges, accessorial charges, modes, carriers, lanes, load utilization, and customer shipping patterns.
  • Evaluate carrier strategies, consolidation opportunities, transportation alternatives, and internal versus third-party logistics options.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to optimize warehouse and distribution center costs, including storage, handling, throughput, transfers, and inventory positioning.
  • Lead financial analysis for 3PL requests for proposal, contract negotiations, rate changes, and service model decisions.
  • Evaluate network opportunities, including distribution center locations, customer assignments, co-manufacturer flows, inter-DC transfers, and inbound versus outbound trade-offs.
  • Partner with Customer Operations and Customer Supply Chain teams to quantify the financial impact of service levels, OTIF requirements, minimums, order patterns, and customer-specific logistics requirements.
  • Identify, quantify, prioritize, and track logistics productivity and cost-reduction initiatives; validate realized savings and business impact.
  • Establish invoice, rate, fuel surcharge, accessorial, and contractual compliance across carriers, brokers, warehouses, and 3PL providers.
  • Develop risk-based audit routines, identify billing exceptions, recover overpayments, and track root-cause corrective actions.
  • Partner with Accounting on accruals, coding, expense allocations, inbound freight capitalization, close processes, and financial controls.
  • Set priorities and provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and quality review for analysts supporting Logistics Finance.
  • Build trusted relationships across Logistics, Warehousing, Customer Operations, Accounting, Sales, and Finance and communicate recommendations clearly to senior leaders.
  • Create repeatable data sets, models, and reporting processes that improve accuracy, speed, transparency, and scalability.
