Finance Manager, Supply Chain Finance

Saronic Technologies•Austin, TX

About The Position

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Finance Manager to lead Supply Chain Finance. The role serves as the finance lead for the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and owns raw material input standard costs, connecting demand plans, supply plans, and material costs to financial outcomes. The Finance Manager partners directly with senior leaders in Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Operations. This is a player-coach role that begins with hands-on leadership and is expected to grow into managing a team of two to four finance professionals as the function scales. The role focuses on leading the work, setting quality standards, developing the team, and building scalable planning and costing processes in a fast-moving, high-growth manufacturing environment. The position is based in an office environment and involves prolonged desk and computer work, occasional standing and walking, and occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 20 pounds. U.S.-based work requires access to export-controlled information or items and therefore requires U.S. Person status as defined by U.S. law.

Requirements

  • 7–9 years of experience in supply chain finance, manufacturing finance, cost accounting, FP&A, or a related analytical role, including experience leading or mentoring others.
  • Experience supporting or leading an S&OP or integrated business planning process, including translating demand and supply plans into financial results.
  • Hands-on experience with standard costing, including raw material standards, cost roll-ups, and purchase price variance analysis.
  • Experience in product manufacturing environments and a working understanding of BOMs, material flows, and factory cost drivers.
  • Experience working with Supply Chain and Procurement, including supplier cost analysis, material planning, and inventory management.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including experience building integrated forecasts and decision-support models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through others, set priorities, and hold a team accountable for high-quality results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and communicate financial insights clearly to operations and executive stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment in day-to-day team resourcing and prioritization, and ability to escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving priorities and multiple work streams.
  • Experience improving financial reporting, systems, or tools, such as NetSuite, Adaptive, Foundry, or similar systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • For U.S.-based work, eligibility as a U.S. Person under applicable U.S. law is required due to access to export-controlled information or items.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or certification, such as an MBA, CPA, or CMA.
  • Experience in high-growth, defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, robotics, or deep-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Experience building or scaling a finance team, including hiring and developing talent.
  • Experience with commodity exposure, supplier contracts, and long-lead or constrained material categories.
  • Experience with low-volume, high-complexity, or program-based manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with working capital, inventory valuation, excess and obsolete reserves, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience with supply chain planning tools or ERP planning modules.
  • Comfort interpreting accounting data and translating financial results into actionable business insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly S&OP cycle as the finance lead, partnering with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and Program leaders to translate demand and supply plans into financial views of revenue, COGS, inventory, and cash, and contributing to each S&OP review.
  • Reconcile the consensus S&OP plan to the budget and latest forecast, quantify gaps and risks, and present scenarios and trade-offs to leadership.
  • Set, maintain, and update raw material and purchased-component standard costs, including cost roll-ups, supplier pricing, freight, duties, and other landed-cost elements.
  • Lead purchase price and material usage variance analysis, facilitate root-cause discussions with Procurement and Supply Chain, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Forecast material costs based on supplier price changes, commodity and market trends, lead times, and shortages, and assess their effect on margin.
  • Provide financial analysis for make-versus-buy decisions, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and inventory purchasing decisions.
  • Monitor inventory levels, excess and obsolete exposure, and open purchase commitments, and partner with Supply Chain on working-capital improvements.
  • Grow into leading a team of two to four analysts and senior analysts by hiring, coaching, setting priorities, and allocating resources according to performance data and business needs.
  • Partner with director-level and executive stakeholders in Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations to translate operational drivers into financial insights and recommendations.
  • Oversee material, demand, and supply financial models supporting S&OP, operating forecasts, cash planning, and working-capital planning.
  • Prepare and review monthly S&OP financial summaries, budget-versus-actual reports, forecast updates, and executive presentation materials, with clear commentary on key drivers.
  • Work with Accounting through month-end close on inventory and cost entries, and coordinate with Manufacturing Finance to ensure material standards flow into product standard costs.
  • Define and monitor quality metrics for team output and promote continuous improvement aligned with Saronic standards.
  • Anticipate challenges, resolve conflicting priorities, and adjust the team's focus as supply and business needs change.
  • Improve S&OP, costing, reporting, and planning processes and tools, including systems such as NetSuite, Adaptive, Foundry, or similar ERP and planning systems.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring the team's work supports broader business objectives and that trade-offs are communicated clearly.
