About The Position

Shade is seeking an experienced partnerships lead to join full-time and build our strategic partnerships function from the ground up. This role will work closely with our CEO and GTM leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building partnerships strategy, experience leading and negotiating complex deals, and the ability to represent Shade effectively in partner meetings and industry events. As the partner program scales, there is an opportunity to build and lead a team of partner managers.

Requirements

  • 5-6+ years in Business Development, Partnerships, or a related GTM function.
  • Experience at a high-growth startup helping stand up a partner program where none existed.
  • Ability to define partnership strategy and goals.
  • Ability to build alignment across product, sales, marketing, and leadership without extensive supervision.
  • Experience leading and negotiating complex, first-of-their-kind partnerships (technical integrations, channel, or platform deals).
  • Comfortable getting into product and roadmap conversations.
  • Credible enough to represent partner needs directly to engineering and design.
  • Ability to track partner performance, spot trends, and turn data into clear, regular updates and recommendations.
  • Excited to define process where none exists yet.
  • Comfortable running a partner business review and writing internal prioritization documents.
  • Confident in partner meetings, negotiations, industry events, and conferences.
  • Experience creating and implementing product or channel partnership strategies in enterprise SaaS.
  • Comfortable structuring and negotiating revenue-share or reseller agreements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience partnering with companies in the M&E / creative tools ecosystem (Adobe, NLEs, DAM, cloud storage).

Responsibilities

  • Build the strategic partnerships function from the ground up.
  • Define partnership strategy and goals.
  • Build alignment across product, sales, marketing, and leadership to execute partnership strategies.
  • Lead and negotiate complex, first-of-their-kind partnerships (technical integrations, channel, or platform deals).
  • Represent partner needs directly to engineering and design.
  • Track partner performance, spot trends, and provide clear updates and recommendations to leadership.
  • Define process where none exists yet.
  • Run partner business reviews.
  • Write one-pagers to get deals prioritized internally.
  • Represent Shade in partner meetings, negotiations, industry events, and conferences.
  • Build and lead a team of partner managers as the partner program scales.
