About The Position

Manager, Strategic Account Management is responsible to drive sustainable growth across a portfolio of strategic Marketplace sellers through business planning, assortment expansion, operational excellence, and adoption of Walmart Marketplace solution. The Manager, Strategic Account Management is responsible for growing a portfolio of strategic Marketplace sellers by developing and executing Joint Business Plans (JBPs), expanding assortment, driving adoption of Marketplace solutions, and improving seller performance. Serving as the primary business partner and point of contact for strategic sellers, this role develops trusted relationships with seller executives and decision-makers, leads regular business reviews, and advocates for seller needs while balancing Walmart’s strategic priorities. The Manager identifies opportunities to increase sales, traffic, conversion, assortment, and item activation, building growth strategies aligned with category and Marketplace objectives to deliver against seller growth and revenue targets. The role works closely with sellers to address assortment gaps and whitespace opportunities, expand brands, categories, and item coverage, and improve customer choice within assigned categories. Additionally, the Manager drives adoption of Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), Walmart Connect advertising solutions, Marketplace promotions and events, and new product and platform capabilities while educating sellers on available growth levers and best practices. The position is responsible for monitoring sales, conversion, assortment, inventory, pricing, and operational KPIs, identifying root causes of performance gaps, developing action plans, and leveraging data and insights to influence seller decisions. Working collaboratively with Business Development, Merchandining, Marketing, Product and Technology, Operations, and Fulfillment teams, the Manager coordinates seller initiatives, resolves escalations, and supports Marketplace-wide growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Account Management, eCommerce, Marketplace, Merchandising, Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, or related commercial roles.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sustainable growth across a portfolio of strategic Marketplace sellers through business planning, assortment expansion, operational excellence, and adoption of Walmart Marketplace solution.

  • Improve seller performance and monitor KPIs such as GMV growth, seller retention, assortment and active item growth, in-demand item activation, WFS penetration, Walmart Connect adoption, promotional participation, seller satisfaction, inventory health, and operational performance metrics.
  • Develop trusted relationships with seller executives and decision-makers.
  • Lead regular business reviews with sellers.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales, traffic, conversion, assortment, and item activation.
