Requirements

Degree in Civil, Water Resources or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized university
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in municipal stormwater engineering and planning, including site specific, community, watershed or municipality-wide studies and infrastructure projects related to flood control, water quality, linear infrastructure and creek rehabilitation
Demonstrated experience in Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, project management and stakeholder consultation
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to prepare reports and presentations to staff, external agencies, consultants, stakeholders, members of the public and Council
Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to lead, develop, implement and manage multidisciplinary projects and programs
Demonstrated ability to apply strategic agility and business acumen, build relationships, develop culture and people, drive innovative changes, and be accountable for results
Proficient with common office computer software, including MS-Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS-Project, or equivalent.
Must be able to attend project site visits and meetings within the City of Mississauga and the GTA

Nice To Haves

Experience with database, GIS and hydrologic/hydraulic modelling software would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

Lead a team of professional technical staff responsible for undertaking studies and capital projects related to stormwater infrastructure planning and design including flood control, water quality, linear infrastructure and creek rehabilitation
Oversee the procurement and management of contracts and deliverables of consultants on stormwater related studies and design projects
Ensure that the team, consultants and internal and external stakeholders meet project deliverables and schedules
Provide specialized engineering input as required to internal stakeholders on stormwater related matters
Provide input and recommendations in the preparation of the Stormwater Business Plan and Budget
Prepare and/or review written correspondence, corporate reports and presentations to internal and external clients, including residents, regulatory agencies and Mayor and Members of Council
Participate and represent the section/division/department/city on internal and external working groups and committees as required
Keep current on best practices, standards, regulations and technologies related to stormwater and project management
Other related duties as assigned
