About The Position

As a senior member of Apple’s State Government Affairs team, the Manager will develop policy and strategy and lead Apple’s interactions with state legislators. The role calls for experience working in state or local government and as a policy advocate. The Government Affairs team develops policy and strategy across a range of issues and manages Apple’s interactions with legislators, with a focus on strategic engagement that affects Apple’s state and local government business.

Requirements

10 or more years of experience in government, government relations, or other advocacy or engagement roles at the state or local level.
Experience working in or with executive and legislative offices.
Extensive knowledge of the legislative process.
Experience leading a portfolio of policy issues and coordinating policy-focused events.

Nice To Haves

Experience advocating before states on behalf of members, corporations, trade associations, or other interest groups.
Experience leading engagement with key organizations and related nonprofits.
Knowledge of policy issues relevant to Apple.
Understanding of complex technology issues and ability to explain them to non-technical audiences.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to concisely summarize complex issues and policies to develop advocacy points and strategy.
