About The Position

Figma is hiring an Engineering Manager for Design Systems Adherence to lead the team building workflows, tools, and quality feedback loops that help customers create designs and code that adhere to their design systems when using Figma’s Agents. The work includes making design guidelines, examples, and documentation useful to AI; improving agent architecture; and creating datasets, evaluators, and benchmarks to measure how well outputs follow customer design systems. The manager will set strategy across these areas, improve adherence measurement, and turn evaluation results and customer feedback into feedback loops that raise design quality. The role also supports design-to-code parity and reducing drift from defined design systems in both designs and code. The manager will lead and grow a team of 6–8 engineers, coach and develop engineers, and set technical direction. They will own design-system context, establish evaluation datasets and methods, build benchmarking tools and dashboards, and partner with Product, Design, and AI Research. This is a full-time role based at a US hub or remotely within the United States.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading and growing high-impact engineering teams, with a track record of strong impact.
  • Hands-on depth building AI assistants and evaluation systems, and using the latest large language models and harnesses.
  • Fluency with modern AI development and evaluation workflows, including context management, dataset curation, automated evaluators, benchmarking, and regression testing.
  • Strong software engineering foundation and a platform mindset, including building tools and systems adopted and relied on by other teams, as well as workflows that solve customer problems.
  • High quality bar for customer experience, data quality, and reliable measurement.
  • Ability to set technical direction and drive cross-functional alignment in complex environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of design systems, including components, tokens, usage guidelines, and their integration across design and code.
  • Proven ability to establish evaluation and customer feedback loops to continuously improve AI products.
  • Skill in benchmarking AI products across output quality, latency, and cost, and translating findings into actionable product priorities.
  • Track record of developing shared evaluation tools, curated datasets, or dashboards to measure quality and prevent regressions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a 6–8 engineer team responsible for Design Systems Adherence across Figma workflows.
  • Coach and develop engineers through career growth, feedback, and technical leadership, fostering ownership and high-quality execution.
  • Own and evolve design-system context by making guidelines, examples, documentation, and other guidance useful and actionable for AI.
  • Set technical strategy for adherence measurement, including high-fidelity evaluation datasets, quality rubrics, evaluators, and deterministic regression checks.
  • Build benchmarks, tools, and dashboards that help Figma and customers understand design-system adherence and act on results.
  • Track visual quality, latency, and cost.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and AI Research teams to achieve business impact.
