About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Software Engineering 2. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This position is a dual-hat position requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as program responsibilities. It is expected that the Functional management role will comprise up to 20% of the candidate's time. The candidate will be responsible for assessing staffing needs, current as well as projected and working with the respective team leads to address those needs. He/she will also be responsible for supporting recruitment activities including the creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers. The candidate will also be responsible for leading a team of system software engineers, providing guidance, and assigning work regarding the system software architecture & requirements of GNC software to ensure alignment with system architecture.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience software development experience or master’s with 6 years of experience or 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance , current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
Experience with Agile principles to include Kanban, Scrum
Experience in software development using languages such as C++, Python
Experience with MBSE, software design & requirement management
U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, test, and debug software/system applications.
Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of embedded systems for safety and mission critical software.
Collaborate with a team of software engineers in an Agile environment to meet critical milestones.
Ensure program mandated software standards and compliance criteria are met.
Understand and can develop in a continuous integration tool chain environment meeting technical and compliance requirements.
Assessing staffing needs, current as well as projected and working with the respective team leads to address those needs.
Supporting recruitment activities including the creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers.
Leading a team of system software engineers, providing guidance, and assigning work regarding the system software architecture & requirements of GNC software to ensure alignment with system architecture.
