About The Position

The Manager, Sleep Center provides operational and clinical leadership for sleep medicine clinic operations and sleep diagnostic services, including in-lab polysomnography and related sleep testing. This role is responsible for day-to-day clinic and department operations, staffing and scheduling, regulatory and accreditation readiness, quality and patient safety outcomes, equipment and supply management, and fiscal stewardship. The manager collaborates with medical directors, providers, clinic leadership, and hospital leadership to ensure timely access to care, accurate testing, exceptional patient experience, and compliance with applicable standards, including Joint Commission and AASM sleep accreditation standards, as applicable.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited educational program in sleep technology, respiratory therapy, nursing, healthcare administration, or a related allied health field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sleep lab, sleep medicine clinic, respiratory therapy, or related healthcare setting required.
  • Prior leadership, charge, supervisory, or clinic operations experience required.
  • BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Sleep credential preferred, such as RPSGT, RST, or SDS, based on services provided.
  • Additional healthcare leadership, clinic operations, or specialty credentials may be preferred.
  • Manager-level experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate daily operations for the Sleep Center, including patient flow, scheduling, staffing coverage, provider support, and on-call needs as applicable.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop technical and support staff; assist with hiring, onboarding, competency validation, performance evaluations, and corrective action in accordance with HR policies.
  • Ensure sleep testing and clinic workflows are performed according to physician orders, established protocols, and applicable standards, including PSG, PAP titration, MSLT/MWT, home sleep apnea testing coordination, and related follow-up processes as applicable.
  • Maintain readiness for regulatory, accreditation, and licensure requirements; coordinate department policies/procedures, documentation standards, and audits (including AASM sleep accreditation standards, as applicable).
  • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement activities (e.g., study quality, scoring/interpretation workflows, turnaround times, patient satisfaction, safety events), and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Partner with Sleep Medicine providers and other stakeholders to optimize service delivery, clarify test indications, support clinical pathways, and resolve operational issues.
  • Oversee equipment, software, and supplies for sleep diagnostic and clinic operations, including maintenance schedules, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and capital planning.
  • Support accurate charge capture, documentation, and billing workflows; monitor productivity and key metrics and report results to leadership.
  • Promote a culture of safety, service excellence, privacy (HIPAA), infection prevention, and patient-centered care for a diverse patient population.
  • Serve as a clinical and operational resource during complex sleep studies, clinic escalations, workflow barriers, and urgent coordination needs.
