Manager, Shipping Operations
About The Position
The Shipping Manager is responsible for leading the shipping team and overseeing the full shipping operations. This includes the successful shipping and delivery of each QuickTalker Freestyle device, AT, Key Guards, accessories, and all other items leaving the company to our customers — based on defined goals and performance standards. This person ensures that daily work, projects, and long-term goals are completed efficiently and in alignment with organizational strategies. They serve as both a leader and a coach, providing directions, removing barriers, and ensuring their team has the resources and support they need to succeed. This role requires a high degree of accuracy and cross-functional partnership with departments including Configuration, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Customer Service. Within a work week, 60% of the Shipping Manager's time is spent on people-leadership — supervising staff, providing performance feedback, managing workloads, and fostering professional development. 30% focuses on strategic and operational oversight, including process improvements, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring department initiatives are aligned with AbleNet's goals and standards. The remaining 10% is for hands on leading by example actions.
Requirements
- Ability to quickly and responsibly address issues seeking resolution
- Understand workflows and changes that will improve outcomes
- Solid understanding of: assembly processes, inventory counts/control, stock movements, QTF configuration and shipping
- Strong sense of urgency
- Attention to details and information retention
- Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate motorized assisted lifts
- 5+ years applicable experience
- 2-years working in AbleNet Operations (Trial, TLK, QTF Configuration/Shipping, and warehouse)

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Own and drive all shipping operations to ensure product availability and on-time delivery of QTF devices, AT, Key Guards, accessories, and other outbound items to customers.
- Communicate, and hold the shipping team accountable to department goals and key performance indicators.
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with Configuration, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and other departments to consistently meet or exceed KPI targets.
- Drive the 5S Warehouse Methodology and promote 7-Rules of Engagement in your department.
- Build and maintain a structured onboarding and training program for new staff on QTF shipping and fulfillment processes.
- Identify areas of improvement in the department and work with your director to implement improvements/changes.
- Supports and promotes AbleNets QMS.
- Manage direct report by Processing employee timecards and PTO requests, performing performance reviews.
- Ability/ willing to be DOT certified.
- All other duties as assigned.
