About The Position

ISPOR is seeking a Manager, Scientific Initiatives to support its mission of promoting health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) globally. This role is integral to the Scientific Initiatives department, which supports various ISPOR member groups like Special Interest Groups (SIGs), councils, and roundtables in developing high-quality HEOR projects, publications, webinars, and presentations. The department also provides input on scientific and health policy content for ISPOR conferences and initiatives. The Manager will act as a project manager for designated member groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science, health economics, pharmacy, or other health care-related or health services research-related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, research, healthcare, or a related field (Master's training can count towards this experience).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the staff liaison for Special Interest Groups (SIGs), managing their teleconferences, agendas, meeting summaries, email updates, and convening group meetings at ISPOR conferences.
  • Assist in the recommendation and development of key projects, literature reviews, conference presentations, and publications for SIGs.
  • Maintain the SIG membership database and webpage.
  • Support the preparation of meeting agendas and summaries for assigned Task Forces, Councils, Roundtables, and Working Groups.
  • Assist with executing events for these groups.
  • Manage projects for Councils, Roundtables, and Working Groups, including identifying attendees, coordinating meetings, scheduling teleconferences, and ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Manage the pipeline of anticipated task force and working group reports.
  • Maintain active communication within ISPOR's online communities, fostering discussions, responding to members, and implementing strategies to enhance participation.
  • Manage post trackers, respond to discussion threads, add resources to online libraries, and collaborate with online Community Engagers to create content.
  • Track online community engagement metrics and report on growth and activities.
  • Scan daily healthcare news to stay informed on scientific developments related to HEOR.
  • Collaborate with other staff to promote scientific content and initiatives.
  • Work across ISPOR departments to implement and improve strategic plans, including science and content strategies.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
