About The Position

The Manager-Scheduling is responsible for ensuring the accurate and optimum scheduling of multiple interstate natural gas pipeline systems by directing the team responsible for customer order fulfillment via the gas scheduling process. This role involves managing a team that provides 24/7 scheduling support, coordinating customer requests with physical system capabilities to optimize throughput and revenue, and ensuring the accuracy and operational status of nomination submission, scheduling, confirmation, and allocation systems. The position also requires providing operators with timely quantities, ensuring accurate month-end closing and reconciliation, building strong teams, and fostering professional relationships with clients. Continuous improvement of processes, accomplishment of performance goals, and adherence to the highest professional integrity, ethics, safety, and regulatory compliance are key aspects of this role. The manager will also handle personnel matters, including performance reviews, and maintain regular attendance and high performance. This role may require non-traditional hours, including on-call duties, shift coverage, weekends, and holidays, with a strong emphasis on personal and public safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Engineering or a related discipline or years of industry experience equivalent to education.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of natural gas/liquid control experience, plus a minimum of three (3) years natural gas/liquid scheduling experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
  • Strong organizational/time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proven management and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete multiple issues under strict deadlines and willingness to delegate to and mentor employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Seven (7) years of natural gas/liquid control and scheduling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring timely and accurate scheduling of the Tallgrass natural gas interstate pipeline systems using the CONNECT system.
  • Managing the team that provides scheduling support seven days per week during industry specified cycle time frames combined with a customer service hot line for urgent business matters.
  • Coordinating customer requested flow orders from the scheduling process with physical system capabilities as determined by Gas Control to optimize system throughput and therefore, company revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that the team is responding accurately and timely to customer inquiries concerning scheduling, CONNECT and the Tallgrass tariffs.
  • Ensuring that Tallgrass’ systems and processes for nomination submission, scheduling, confirmation and allocations are accurate, fully operational and being utilized properly.
  • Providing operators timely, efficient, reliable and “as expected” quantities at all receipt and delivery points.
  • Ensuring that the end-of-the-month closing responsibilities are timely and accurate.
  • Ensuring the monthly reconciliation and resolutions for Operational Balancing Agreements are correct.
  • Building strong, motivated and service oriented teams.
  • Developing and maintaining professional relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Ensuring ongoing improvement through evaluation of current processes.
