About The Position

Pacific Life is seeking a talented Manager, Scheduler & Early Career Programs to join their Consumer Markets Division Sales organization in Omaha, NE. This role involves leading a team of Schedulers who provide administrative support to Field and Internal Wholesalers, focusing on improving the scheduling model to allow wholesalers more time with advisors. Additionally, the Manager will be the primary business partner for early-career recruiting and internship efforts within CMD Sales, collaborating with University Relations to manage campus engagement, candidate attraction, selection, and the intern experience. The role emphasizes building a culture of accountability, belonging, development, service, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Lead and develop the Scheduler team, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, engagement, workload management, and day-to-day operating support.
  • Own Scheduler operations and continuous improvement by aligning coverage to business priorities, reviewing activity and quality, standardizing processes, resolving barriers, and reporting results.
  • Serve as the primary CMD Sales business partner to University Relations for early-career recruiting and campus relationships, including annual planning, events, stakeholder coordination, candidate engagement, and business feedback.
  • Coordinate the CMD Sales intern experience in partnership with University Relations and intern managers, including planning, onboarding readiness, projects, development, manager support, feedback, and conversion discussions.
  • Support broader leadership priorities, cross-functional initiatives, compliance expectations, and team culture activities as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Schedulers, establishing clear expectations for outreach quality, calendar management, CRM documentation, professionalism, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Own the day-to-day operating model for Scheduler coverage, workload allocation, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, engagement, and team culture.
  • Partner with Field Wholesalers, Internal Wholesalers, and Sales leadership to align Scheduler activity with regional priorities and continuously improve scheduling support.
  • Serve as the primary CMD Sales business partner to University Relations for early-career recruiting, university engagement, and the Sales intern program.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local colleges and universities, including faculty, career services, student organizations, and sales and business programs.
  • Translate CMD Sales workforce needs into clear early-career recruiting priorities, campus plans, candidate profiles, event participation, and intern staffing recommendations.
  • Coordinate the Sales business-area intern experience, including manager readiness, meaningful work, onboarding, development, engagement, feedback, and conversion planning.
  • Use data, stakeholder feedback, and observation to evaluate Scheduler effectiveness, campus engagement, candidate pipelines, intern experience, and program outcomes, then recommend adjustments.
  • Build a culture of accountability, belonging, development, service, and continuous improvement across the Scheduler team and early-career programs.
  • Set daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly priorities for the Scheduler team and ensure work is aligned to wholesaling needs.
  • Coach Schedulers through call review, observation, written communication review, one-on-one conversations, and individualized development plans.
  • Monitor scheduling activity and outcomes, calendar accuracy, outreach quality, CRM documentation, schedule changes, and follow-up completion.
  • Hold team members accountable to established expectations using both quantitative and qualitative measures.
  • Review coverage needs, assign Scheduler support, coordinate backup coverage, and adjust staffing or workflows as business priorities change.
  • Implement and reinforce consistent scheduling processes, scripts, service standards, controls, and escalation paths.
  • Partner with Sales leaders and wholesaling teams to gather feedback, resolve recurring issues, identify best practices, and pilot process improvements.
  • Ensure effective use of Salesforce, Outlook, Teams, Calendly, approved call tools, and other business systems used by the team.
  • Recruit, interview, select, onboard, and retain Schedulers in partnership with Talent Acquisition and HR.
  • Partner with University Relations on our CMD Sales campus engagement plan based on business hiring needs and enterprise early-career strategy.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with priority colleges and universities and represent Pacific Life at approved career fairs, classroom visits, student organization events, networking programs, competitions, and other campus activities.
  • Coordinate Sales leader, employee, and alumni participation in campus events, including preparation, messaging, materials, logistics, and follow-up.
  • Support candidate attraction, keep-warm engagement, interview coordination, candidate experience, and business feedback in partnership with University Relations and Talent Acquisition.
  • Coordinate the Sales intern program with University Relations, including role planning, manager expectations, onboarding readiness, meaningful projects, mentorship, development experiences, communication, feedback, and end-of-program evaluation.
  • Serve as an accessible point of contact between Sales interns and University Relations, escalating enterprise program, policy, payroll, housing, travel, or employee-relations questions to the appropriate University Relations, HR, or business partner.
  • Track and share outcomes such as campus engagement, candidate progression, accepted offers, intern experience feedback, conversion readiness, Scheduler performance, and stakeholder satisfaction using approved measures and definitions.
  • Manage competing priorities, event timelines, and seasonal recruiting demands, including occasional local travel and evening events as needed.
