About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to provide administrative, technical and operational support to the Manager of Baltimore Works. This position is a major liaison between the Manager, the Baltimore Works team, Administrator for Office of Workforce Development and the Office of Workforce Development Teams. At all times, the incumbent will provide customer service to both internal and external customers that meet or exceed the standards set by the Department.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Two years of administrative staff or professional work.
  • Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience using Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
  • One year of experience scheduling meetings, appointments, and maintaining calendars.
  • One year of experience of responding to inquiries and resolving problems in accordance with applicable procedures, regulations and laws.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Manager and Supervisors to ensure various deadlines for assignments and reports are met.
  • Independently research and respond to issues/questions raised.
  • Recognize and alert Manager to situations requiring their immediate attention.
  • Conducts operations ethically; adheres to compliance requirements; provides discipline and structure that influences the staff awareness of and respect of operational controls.
  • At all times, the incumbent will provide customer service to both internal and external customers that meet or exceed the standards set by the Department.
  • Maintain Manager’s calendar and reservations for meetings rooms.
  • Prepare reports, tables, charts and other documents as necessary for the review of the Baltimore Works Manager.
  • Make independent decisions involving changes in operational for Baltimore Works and ensure files are accessible and maintain a retrievable manner.
  • Communicate with the Office Secretary, user support, information management, automated systems, Support staff, and program analyst for problem solving and/or troubleshooting.
  • Assist the Baltimore Works Support team when there is coverage needed.
