About The Position

Under direct supervision, this position will have the responsibility of managing specialized work in an efficient manner with confidence and competence. The position requires an above average attention to detail, concern for the exact correctness of the work and a strong commitment to completing tasks on time. The individual in this position must take their work seriously, have a strong sense of duty and be disciplined. The position requires a somewhat faster than average pace of work. This position is task oriented requiring someone with a conservative, careful and cautious approach to work. Under direct supervision, this position requires very careful adherence to well-defined work where repeatable results are needed. The work is highly precise in nature and requires very strong attention to detail. It is vital for the work output to be very high quality, with correct results time and time again.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience working in the operational area of lending desired.
  • Proficient knowledge of general office practices and personal computer operations including Word processing, Excel, and email software programs.
  • Strong communication skills including composing business correspondence, telephone, email and face to face are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and provide administrative support to the Special Assets department.
  • Generate credit reports.
  • Generate and monitor correspondence (“letter cycle”) with borrowers, consumer and dealer, from 30 days to either a “cure”, legal action (i.e. repossession, foreclosure) or charge off.
  • Research and respond to credit disputes.
  • Monitor bankruptcy filings and update Core Director accordingly for accurate credit reporting.
  • When notified of a deceased borrower, take necessary actions in applicable systems.
  • Prepare “contact letters” for charge off and deficiency balances.
  • Prepare civil or small claims actions if there is no response to the contact letter.
  • Assist supervisor on procedure and manual updates.
  • Issue delinquent property tax letters to appropriate internal departments and staff, for further review and recommendations, then send determined letters on consumer loans.
  • Prepare and send out Change in Terms upon request from borrowers.
  • Perform a variety of clerical functions in support of the department’s needs.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Work efficiently and respectfully with all departments within the organization.
