About The Position

The Manager-Respiratory Care is responsible for ensuring the coordination of Respiratory Care services for the specific hospital assigned. Resolves problems and strives to continuously improve the quality of patient care; acts as a designer of work processes that meet organization objectives, a teacher and coach who helps everyone in the organization gain insight, and a steward serving the people they lead and to fulfill the mission. Works closely with nursing and other services as required. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree obtained from an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Respiratory Therapy program as specified by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree in process accepted.
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience in Respiratory Care required.
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access.
  • Able to operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to provide leadership.
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Able to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.

  • Able to see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
  • State of California license for Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required issued by the Respiratory Care Examining Committee of Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
  • Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) for Children's Hospital, by the NBRC required or obtained within 12-months.
