About The Position

The Manager, Reporting is a hands-on technical role at the centre of the Credit Operations analytics ecosystem. This role will be the go-to expert for building, connecting, and maintaining raw and curated datasets that support core business processes, reporting, and decision-making. The successful candidate will directly enhance our analytical capabilities by improving data infrastructure, strengthening data reliability, and enabling scalable data flows into key systems. This is a deeply technical, execution-focused role, with significant time spent working in SQL, Python, Databricks, and related databases to build and operate scalable pipelines and an interconnected data ecosystem for Credit Operations. The role will also partner closely with Technology, Credit Risk, Fraud, Collections, and Bank teams to understand data needs and bring new analytics into production. Experience with Delta Sharing in Databricks, particularly to support future Bank–Telecom data integration initiatives, is considered an asset.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or related fields with a strong grasp of statistical methods, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and data modeling techniques.
  • Comfortable interpreting complex data, conducting thorough analyses, and presenting findings clearly to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience using Databricks as the primary analytics platform.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in risk management, with an understanding of governance, control, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in building and supporting the development of predictive and statistical forecast models.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Leadership potential with collaborative abilities and strong presentation skills.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated and proactive individual, dedicated to follow-up and follow-through with little supervision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment, being flexible in response to changing priorities and able to quickly adapt to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Data modelling and quality mindset.
  • Experience designing and maintaining curated analytics datasets (data models) that are well-structured, documented, and easy for analysts and data scientists to use.
  • Strong focus on data accuracy, validation, and controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Delta Sharing in Databricks, particularly to support future Bank–Telecom data integration initiatives.
  • Alteryx experience is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with our billing platforms (e.g., V21, SuperSystem, Maestro) - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize tools like SQL, Python for data-driven strategic decision-making, refining governance and control frameworks.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within Credit Operations.
  • Regularly update benchmarks for performance and compliance, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain compliance with credit policies and serve as a crucial link between Credit Collections and other departments.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment in policies.
  • Oversee KPI tracking, assessing operational efficiency and the effectiveness of collection strategies, ensuring that strategies are data-driven and aligned with market realities.
  • Lead training initiatives and regularly audit credit processes to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Provide responsive, expert support for a variety of ad hoc projects and requests.
