About The Position

Davidson & Company is seeking a Manager to join their Audit, Tax and Private Enterprise practice. This role involves overseeing multiple client engagements, managing teams, and ensuring high-quality, timely service delivery. The Manager will act as a key liaison between clients and the firm, contribute to strategic planning and process improvement, and support business development. The position involves working with clients in industries such as real estate and construction, community services, and NPOs. A critical part of this role is mentoring team members, fostering a collaborative environment, and strengthening long-term client relationships. Requirements

  • Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • CPA designation
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, tax, or audit
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and QuickBooks Online
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and IFRS.
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, and management principles.
  • Experience leading teams, coaching junior staff, and managing client relationships.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients professionally.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and review audit, tax, and advisory engagements, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with standards, and effective risk management
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships through proactive communication and identifying opportunities to add value.
  • Lead and support the growth of Senior Accountants and CPA students, providing coaching and technical guidance.
  • Lead internal training sessions and contribute to performance management and team development initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting, tax, and assurance matters, staying up to date with evolving standards and reviewing high-risk files before Partner sign-off.
  • Support budgeting and resource planning while contributing to firm-wide initiatives such as process improvements, technology integration, and business development.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.
