About The Position

The Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for developing the PMO into a best-in-class project organization that achieves project outcomes, and key performance indicators (KPIs), provides exceptional customer service and account management, and fosters a team culture of inclusion, professional development, and continuous improvement. Using project management practices and principles, and working in collaboration with leaders, clients and key collaborators, this role scopes, monitors, and ensures quality execution of projects in the PMO portfolio by providing oversight and effective deployment of the project manager team. This role coaches project managers on leading enterprise-wide and highly complex projects and is a role model of leadership and project management best practices. This role is responsible for oversight of the PMO portfolio, which contributes to the strategic plan as well as enterprise and division goals. The manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the PMO and portfolio, building project management capability in the greater organization, and leading strategic project work as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Health Administration, Business, or Project Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience, including at least 3 years managing projects.
  • Experience leading a large project team on a large scale project (large budget, impact, or time); full cycle from initiation to project close.
  • Demonstrated successful experience leading complex change management in an organizational setting.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with development and implementation of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and resource capacity management practices.
  • Experience working with senior executives.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Project Management, Health Administration, or Business Administration.
  • Two or more years experience coaching and training leadership in project management methodologies.
  • Two or more years of experience formally managing Project Managers or similar professional skill.
  • Two or more years experience working in complex healthcare system.
