Caterpillar’s Cat Technology group is searching for a Manager Product Support (Technology) to lead and manage product support deliverables and team for our new technology product development programs focused in the Construction Industries (CI) segment. The role is focused on leading and implementing Cat Command remote control and task autonomy support strategies for our construction industry dealers and customers by partnering with Caterpillar’s product group and component design and service teams. Additionally, the role will work with global marketing and other partner organizations to drive resolution for global support issues in the Cat Technology construction industries remote control and task autonomy products. The position is suited for persons that are looking for opportunities for increased leadership, global team collaboration, and exposure to all of Caterpillar’s machine product groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other Engineering curriculum. 10 years of experience in a management capacity will also be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support NPI program product support deliverables to achieve business goals.
  • Own the product support NPI process to meet program goals related to process improvements, field follow deliverables, and solution high impact commercial issues
  • Lead support focused projects that include cross functional members within the organization to achieve business goals
  • Lead, direct and grow a service engineering team focused around Cat Command technology
