Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Finance or Supply Chain Management
  • Between 7 and 10 years of experience
  • Engine mechanics comprehension
  • Financial skills
  • Manufacturing and machining process comprehension
  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
  • The selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods. Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of these checks and obtaining the required clearances. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the employment offer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide recurring cost details for the company business cases and will follow-up cost during engine development, ensuring all key elements are identified for proper execution
  • Provide engine cost for proposals, Financial Investment Audits and certification phases
  • Support Program development by providing cost updates on ongoing design jobs upcoming cost impact
  • Explore and recommend the most effective costs alternatives
  • Perform analysis to validate assumptions at the time of proposal and manage cost during engine development phase.
  • Establish and communicate cost targets for engine modules to the Engineering and Supply Chain teams
  • Track cost evolution with respect to target and highlight upcoming and forecasted gaps.
  • Work with Engineering to identify alternative design solutions if applicable increasing product margins
  • Create an innovative environment to ensure best practices are applied.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities based on engine component and assembly.
  • Maintain cost models by part family to identify the gaps and opportunities between current costs and should cost.
