About The Position
The (USA) Manager, Procurement, leads the development and execution of procurement strategies to support business objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities through data-driven analysis. The manager collaborates cross-functionally to implement innovative solutions, monitor supplier performance, and mitigate risks. With strong financial acumen and problem-solving skills, the position drives continuous improvement and operational excellence to deliver value and support Walmart’s commitment to customer satisfaction and sustainable business practices. The team oversees Walmart’s global software spend portfolio, collaborating with Business and Global Technology units to enhance technology operations. They lead strategic sourcing across AI, cloud, enterprise platforms, and supply chain systems, driving innovation and managing significant technology investments. Their scope includes corporate functions, stores, supply chain, and customer experience, ensuring alignment with business objectives. By applying category strategy, negotiation, financial acumen, and supplier relationship management, the team delivers cost-effective solutions that support Walmart’s technology-driven growth and operational excellence worldwide.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in vendor relationship management and supplier performance evaluation.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze data and support business plan implementation.
- Experience in category strategy development, including identifying savings opportunities and risk mitigation.
- Skilled in negotiation and contract management adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to develop and track supplier scorecards and key performance indicators.
- Effective problem-solving skills using data-driven approaches and stakeholder collaboration.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams and fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, economics, technology, or related field and 2 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.
- OR 4 years’ experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.
