Manager, Process Strategist Lead

Capital OneMcLean, VA
$122,100 - $153,300

About The Position

The Talent Management Performance Management Operational Excellence (TMPM OE) team is seeking a Process Strategist to move our talent and performance management operations from institutional memory, manually-heavy processes to institutional excellence. You will be the primary bridge between operational intent and execution, ensuring our processes are so clearly defined that they serve as the foundational blueprints for our Product Partners and process automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years in process, project management, or operations
  • Systems Thinking: The ability to see the "big picture" of the talent & performance management ecosystem and understand how a change in one area impacts the entire lifecycle.
  • Information Design: Mastery of process mapping tools (e.g., LucidChart, Visio) and the ability to turn "messy" conversations into structured documentation.
  • Automation Curiosity: Practical experience or a strong aptitude for using systematic or AI tools to streamline workflows, draft documentation, or analyze process data.
  • Translational Communication: The ability to speak "Operation" to the current team,”Programming Needs” to Analytic Partners, "Requirement" to the Product Managers, and "Support" to Product Ops.
  • Bias for Clarity: A relentless drive to eliminate ambiguity. You aren't satisfied until a process is so clear it can be understood by someone on their first day.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of successfully championing major process or system transformations/implementations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive significant change while maintaining operational stability
  • A strategic mindset coupled with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach
  • Experience using AI and/or technology to generate creative ideas, solve problems, troubleshoot common business problems, and translate them into tangible more efficient work products

Responsibilities

  • Audit current "institutional knowledge" across the team to create high-fidelity process maps and logic trees.
  • Ensure these processes are understandable by non-experts, specifically Product Partners and Product Ops.
  • Proactively identify friction points in the existing processes.
  • Leverage systematic thinking, AI tools, & partnership with programming team members to redesign these workflows for maximum efficiency before they are prioritized on the product development roadmap.
  • Translate optimized operational workflows into clear, logic-based requirements.
  • Ensure that product enhancements are built to support a "future-state" process rather than automating existing manual workarounds.
  • Partner with Product Operations to integrate these refined processes into their user support and incident management models, ensuring a seamless experience from back-end operations to front-line support.
  • Work ahead of the roadmap to prepare data and process logic that are automation ready enabling the team to quickly leverage emerging technologies for automated decisioning and reporting.
  • Ensure all process designs are modular and adaptable for international markets, removing regional "shadow processes" in favor of a unified global standard through partnership with Risk.
  • Champion the holistic redesign of work processes and structures by deploying intelligent automation across repetitive processes while focusing on achieving system-level efficiency.

Benefits

  • comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being
