The University of Rochester is seeking a Manager, Practice Operations to provide sound support and assistance in efficient practice operations management. This role supports leadership, collaborates, and seeks their resources as appropriate. The Manager supervises and directs a team of practice managers, and is responsible for hiring decisions, orientation, training, development, and performance evaluation of these practice managers. This includes overseeing the training program for practice managers, completing the manager pathway for new hires, and facilitating ongoing training, mentoring, and education. The role also involves developing and maintaining network procedures and best practices for office managers in the area of business operations, incorporating established University and Highland Hospital procedures. The Manager identifies key tasks for successful medical practice management, works with other departments on Enterprise initiatives related to practice operations, and collaborates to ensure coverage during vacancies. They are responsible for identifying and executing practice and process improvements while maintaining a highly efficient level of practice operations. In the absence of leadership, the Manager oversees staff training and development, ensuring leads have the necessary skillset to cover practice during PM absence, patient relations, payroll administration, addressing finance problems and implementing solutions, management of human resource issues, and regulatory compliance. The Manager maintains up-to-date knowledge of office operations and office manager responsibilities through literature review, PC Administration meetings, and the Billing Forum. They co-manage oversight of business operational tasks for new office builds, acquisitions, and mergers, including tasks related to ISD, IT, system conversions, space, supplies, and assessing staff needs. Travel to network practices is required, along with other assigned duties.
