Purpose: Contributes to the overall success of the Global Transaction Banking Strategy in Canada by identifying new revenue streams, sizing new initiatives, addressing current product gaps, finding cross product synergies. Ensures specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • University Degree in business, economics, or technology (MBA an asset)
  • Self-starter possessing confidence and initiative; able to cope with changing and evolving priorities while identifying new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic negotiating skills.
  • Strong Analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Power Bi, MS Excel, SQL, and data modeling techniques.
  • Results oriented and innovative in identifying and pursuing opportunities to leverage capabilities to increase revenues, decrease costs and mitigate risks.
  • Product management expertise to enable the thorough understanding of products/services.
  • A positive attitude combined with confidence to drive team priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of payments, industry trends and practices, innovative digital platforms, policies and procedures an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Bank's application systems and their relationships within the Bank is an asset.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is an asset.
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Optimizing the profitability of GTB’s product portfolio by analyzing, designing, and recommending strategies in conjunction with product owners and cross functional partners.
  • Work with the pricing and analytic teams to drive revenues and identify efficiencies.
  • Assessing the economic and financial feasibility of new product opportunities, ensuring a reasonable rate of return for services sold and a sound competitive position and making recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of business cases and strategic plans for new initiatives to optimize revenue opportunities.
  • Lead the consolidated forecasting and planning cycles on behalf of product owners and ensure the product roadmap is accurately represented.
  • Build data-driven, scenario-based models to evaluate business impact on strategic and business development initiatives and monitor key portfolio KPIs.
  • Developing business cases and supporting presentations for identified opportunities, that support the growth and maintenance of the business.
  • Research, analyze, and synthesize data, trends, leading practices, and other business intelligence in support of business plans.
  • Identify product gaps with respect to customer needs, competitive offerings, and trends.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial summaries for cross-portfolio product team and Sr. Leadership.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
