About The Position

The Manager, TPO Portfolio Project Management serves as the primary owner of Portfolio and Project Management technology products supporting R&D and Supply Chain product development and project activities. This role partners closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and IT stakeholders to ensure technology investments are aligned to business priorities, regulatory requirements, and product development needs. This position plays a critical role in accelerating innovation, driving visibility, governance, and value realization across the organization and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization. The role involves leading the application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize R&D platforms, accelerating product development, improving scientific and engineering insights, and strengthening end‑to‑end decision‑making while enabling scalable, compliant, and efficient R&D operations from discovery through lifecycle management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field).
  • 6-8 years of experience in technology, digital product management, or clinical systems, with experience at the manager or senior individual contributor level.
  • Proven experience as a product owner or product manager for enterprise technology solutions.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into technology requirements.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills and influence without authority.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences).
  • Experience working with agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • English proficiency required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA or relevant technical discipline) preferred.
  • Experience supporting R&D Product Development technology platforms within a global organization.
  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Experience with portfolio and project management tools and financial tracking.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization.
  • Product Owner, Agile, or Project Management certifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the assigned Portfolio and Project Management technology platforms, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
  • Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead prioritization decisions to balance business value, compliance, and delivery timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for product performance, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement of portfolio management processes, tools, and governance models.
  • Monitor product outcomes and KPIs to ensure solutions deliver measurable value to the cross-functional teams.
