About The Position

The Manager, Planning leads the day-to-day Planning function at the Springville site in support of the site’s Annual Operating Plan and performance objectives. The role leads material flow processes and oversees master scheduling, parts planning, production planning, and production control. It ensures compliance with customer and engineering requirements and standards, a safe work environment, employee development and engagement, and execution of plans supporting on-time customer delivery. The manager also coaches enterprise leadership behaviors and facilitates process and cultural transformation across the site. Travel is expected to be less than 20%.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or a business-related field; internal Flowserve candidates may substitute ten years of planning leadership experience in an engineered manufacturing business.
Strong root-cause problem-solving and analytical skills using DMAIC or a similar framework, with demonstrated ability to make critical decisions and deliver sustainable improvements.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with business systems such as MRP and ERP.
Strong verbal, written, and public-speaking communication skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, understand, and lead others.
Ability to motivate and inspire teamwork and consistently acknowledge others’ contributions.
High-level organization and record-keeping skills.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
CPIM (Certification in Production and Inventory Management).
CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
Power BI proficiency.
Oracle proficiency.
Previous experience in an engineered-to-order (ETO) industry.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and tactical leadership to the Planning team in support of Springville business objectives.
Establish team communication and performance-management processes that provide daily performance visibility, confirm standard work, address deviations through problem solving, and support coaching and continuous improvement.
Direct production planning, materials, capacity, and scheduling requirements; use sales forecasts and SIOP to maintain appropriately sized inventory levels.
Develop and maintain a facility Plan for Every Part (PFEP), including transaction history management, reorder strategies, and safety-stock strategies, to minimize inventory and maintain material flow.
Develop projects to improve inventory levels, on-time delivery (OTD), and past-due metrics.
Work with Sales and Commercial Operations to maintain market lead times through inventory forecasting and capacity management.
Create and prioritize production schedules to optimize capacity, productivity, OTD, and CORE customer expectations.
Maintain planning bills of material (BOMs) in the ERP system.
Use data analytics to support planning and operations teams in managing KPIs and making decisions.
Monitor and manage obsolete and excess inventory.
Ensure cross-functional collaboration within Materials and across the facility.

Lead employee training programs and career development activities to enhance team capabilities.
