About The Position

Nintendo of America Inc. is seeking a Manager, Payments to join NOA’s Finance, under the Payments & Fraud team. This role collaborates with external payment industry partners, as well as global and local internal Nintendo teams, to increase revenues and ensure a positive consumer experience. The team focuses on strategies that optimize consumer payment method options, payment authorization results, and cost optimization for NOA’s Direct to Consumer (DTC) channels. Nintendo's mission is to create smiles through unique entertainment experiences. We deliver on this mission by bringing iconic and cherished franchises across the Americas through video games, hardware systems, and collaborations on other entertainment initiatives like feature films and theme parks. Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in payments, with at least two (2) years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Payment industry best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to develop initiatives that improve auth rates, maximize revenues, and reduce costs and redundancies.
  • Advanced skills in analyzing data, presenting observations, and making recommendations in meeting payment and company objectives.
  • Experience in managing and leading payment vendor partner and merchant peer relationships.
  • Business acumen in providing subject matter expertise guidance to internal business partners.
  • Experience in leading, managing, and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives with the involvement of multiple internal and external partners.
  • Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize department performance.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Continually seeks opportunities/initiatives that will optimize revenues and reduce payment costs.
  • Provides payments subject matter expertise and business guidance that will optimize business revenues, cost reduction payment objectives, and maintain flexibility for future enhancements.
  • Analyzes scope and return on investment of opportunities and presents findings to executive leadership within NOA and NCL.
  • Establishes, automates, and maintains KPIs to analyze and report results, identify areas of concern or opportunities, and influence decisions.
  • Maintains awareness of payment trends, industry trends, and consumer preferences for potential adoption by NOA or Nintendo globally, coordinating with Nintendo Company Limited (NCL) and other Nintendo regions for policy, process, and system improvements.
  • Monitors and evaluates performance, provides feedback, guidance, development, training, and task directions to assigned staff (will directly manage a team of 2).
  • Serves as an ongoing liaison with peer merchants and trade organizations to increase NOA’s understanding of best practices and industry initiatives.
  • Liaises, educates on NOA priorities, and aligns with NCL partners, respecting cultural differences.
  • Manages NOA’s various payment partner business relationships and performance.
  • Ensures NOA adheres to payment rules, compliance requirements, and changes.
  • Partners with IT on system performance and drives resolution of issues and downtime with root cause analysis for preventative measures.
  • Manages Gateway and Payment partners to establish automated reporting frequency and KPIs on chargebacks and refunds.
  • Manages team responsible for payments and fraud execution on business initiative projects, requiring a strong working relationship with Manager, Fraud Operations.
