About The Position

Lead Safety. Drive Improvement. Protect Patients. At LCMC Health, patient safety is at the heart of everything we do. We're seeking a dedicated RN leader to oversee our Patient Safety Program and help create a culture where patients and team members can thrive. In this role, you'll partner with leaders, physicians, and frontline staff to identify risks, investigate safety events, implement improvements, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. You'll play a key role in advancing a culture of safety while driving meaningful change across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current Louisiana RN License
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience
  • Ability to obtain Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification within 12 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in patient safety, quality improvement, accreditation, risk management, or regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of RCA, FMEA, and performance improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the organization's Patient Safety Program.
  • Monitor patient safety events and support investigations, root cause analyses (RCAs), and corrective action planning.
  • Facilitate proactive risk assessments, including Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA).
  • Analyze and report patient safety data, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with leaders and teams to implement safety initiatives and process improvements.
  • Develop and deliver patient safety education and awareness programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, and federal patient safety requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for patient safety best practices across the organization.
