About The Position

Responsible for effectively planning, directing, and coordinating, all warehouse and inventory control activities.  Develop and implement planned flow of inbound and outbound products throughout the warehouse facility.  Through delegation of responsibilities and assignment of duties to Supervisors and  team-leads achieve safe, efficient and economical storage, handling, and distribution functions conforming to established goals thereby accomplishing company profit, growth and return on investment. Supervises and coordinates activities of the inventory control department to ensure physical and system inventory accuracy. Ensure that warehouse profiling is up to date at all times.

Requirements

  • One to two years post-secondary education, University degree or college diploma preferred.

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in managing a large distribution facility, including minimum 2 years supervisory experience.  Experience in inventory control required.  Equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience will be considered good computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Provides the leadership that engages all warehouse Supervisors, team leads and their team members. Ensure that all Supervisor reviews are completed on a regular basis.
  • Provides support and guidance for the activities of Supervisors, team leads and team members in the warehouse facility to ensure all safety, productivity and quality standards are achieved. Works with Supervisors to ensure all labour planning tools are utilized.
  • Responsible for person-hour planning, setting production schedules, and establishing work procedures.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, recommends and implements process changes, upgrades equipment, and improves production methods to increase quality and efficiency.
  • Initiates personnel actions.  Maintains time and procedure records.  Oversees the training of new employees and team leads.      Evaluates performance of employees and provides recommendations for salary increases, promotions and transfers.
  • Responsible to achieve all Company KPI targets and provide detailed, timely response to Fulfillment Centre Manager when targets are not meant.
  • Monitors the routing of orders being printed, pulled, checked and packed.
  • Working with the Fulfillment Centre Manager responsible for preparing departmental budget and managing within those guidelines.
  • Plans and monitors the department’s safety programs, ensuring all WSIB regulations are adhered to. 
  • Daily interaction with Operations Management to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with other functions including sales, purchasing, MIS, maintenance, and security
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • This job manages a large staff of Warehouse Supervisors, Team Leads, Pickers/Order Fillers, Wrapper/Packers, Shippers, Receivers, Stockers and Inventory Control.
  • Flexible work shifts required
  • Some travel to other locations may be required.
