About The Position

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is seeking a Manager, Operations Delivery & Facility Readiness to lead the operational readiness, activation, and transition (ORAT) of new and redeveloped airport infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the planning and execution of readiness programs to ensure seamless integration of facilities into airside, terminal, baggage, and groundside operations. The position requires coordinating stakeholders, managing operational risks, and ensuring new assets meet all regulatory, safety, and operational requirements within a live airport environment. Requirements

  • 5–7 years’ experience in a large‑scale aviation environment (airport or airline), with leadership (direct or indirect) experience.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing operational readiness, integration, or complex operational programs.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work, make decisions under pressure, and manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced, operationally critical environment.
  • Proven experience balancing multiple stakeholders, risks, and timelines to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of airport operations, including airside, terminal, and groundside activities.
  • Post‑secondary education in Aviation Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and leadership capabilities in a customer‑focused environment.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within regulatory frameworks such as Canadian Aviation Regulations and aerodrome standards is an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational readiness, activation, and transition (ORAT) programs for small and large‑scale airport projects.
  • Prioritize competing operational readiness activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment to safety, regulatory, and operational imperatives.
  • Plan, direct, and execute readiness trials to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure into live operations.
  • Chair cross‑functional steering committees and working groups.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior leadership on operational readiness strategies and prioritization trade-offs.
  • Develop and implement procedures to support safe and effective transition of new airport assets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Airside, Terminals, Baggage, Groundside) to assess operational impacts and readiness.
  • Partner with engineering, construction, and project teams to ensure mitigation plans are in place for live environment operations.
  • Engage airlines, government agencies, and external stakeholders to coordinate activities and minimize disruption.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in airport operations for design reviews and operational feasibility assessments.
