About The Position

The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for monitoring employee compliance with gaming regulations, including Casino, Tribal, Federal, and State rules, policies, and procedures. This role involves reporting compliance deficiencies, creating daily shift reports, and responding to guest and employee complaints. The MOD also protects casino assets, recommends policy changes, and maintains knowledge of casino programs and policies. Cooperation with other managers and supervisors is essential, as is the accurate processing of jackpot verifications. The position requires the ability to handle diverse situations and people, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to excellent attendance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three years in gaming, preferably supervisory experience.
  • Must have knowledge in the games played at Dakota Sioux Casino & Hotel; such as Black Jack, different Poker Games, and Craps, Slots, and Sports Book betting.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of casino operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must obtain a Key Gaming License.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations/or people.
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Must demonstrate excellent attendance practices.
  • Must be able to work 8+ hours if necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors employee compliance with gaming regulations; Casino, Tribal, Federal, and State rules, policies and procedures.
  • Reports compliance deficiencies to department manager(s).
  • Creates and delivers daily shift reports to General Manager, Human Resources and other Associate Managers (MOD’S).
  • Responds promptly to guest and/or employee complaints, settling disputes or complaints amicably and diplomatically.
  • Protects all assets and Liabilities of the Casino.
  • Reports ideas, problems and concerns; recommends changes; and channels complaints to respective department managers.
  • Maintains the cognizance of Dakota Sioux Casino & Hotel’s programs and policies.
  • Cooperates and coordinates with department manager(s) and supervisor(s) on matters of collective concern.
  • Performs necessary procedures and gathers all required paperwork for verification of a Jackpot.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the requirements of this position.
