About The Position

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home. The Manager of Social Services purpose is to assist the Director of Clinical Services with the clinical and operational function of the Clinical Services Department and to provide clinically indicated therapy and case management to individuals and groups. The Manager of Social Services provides oversight and management of the twenty-four-hour operations of assigned patient care units with the goal of maintaining quality and safety, enhancing efficiencies, managing resources, and optimizing patient and staff satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree required.
  • Licensure by the State of Florida as a LCSW or LMHC required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the mental health field.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in clinical and administrative supervision.
  • Must be able to perform medium physically demanding work requiring walking, sitting or standing most of the time.
  • Must be able to participate in the physical restraint and seclusion of patients.
  • Must be able to participate in and complete Handle With Care Training on an annual basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and management of the operations of assigned patient care units.
  • Functions as a staff Social Worker managing an individual caseload.
  • Participates in the recruitment, orientation, on-boarding, and clinical education processes of employees.
  • Manages the Social Work department’s staff performance.
  • Manages the Social Work department’s FTEs and budget adherence.
  • Participates in the appraisal of Social Work staff performance evaluations.
  • Develops and implements quality initiatives and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required by this position.
