About The Position

We are seeking a Manager of Operational Accounting to serve as a strategic financial partner responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and operational performance across multiple business units. This leadership role partners closely with Operations and Executive Leadership to provide actionable financial insights, drive strategic decision-making, and improve financial performance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting and financial planning expertise with exceptional leadership, analytical, and business partnering skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within construction, project-based, manufacturing, or multi-location organizations.
  • Proven experience managing forecasting, budgeting, financial planning, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-region financial operations.
  • Hands-on experience with financial planning systems; Workday Adaptive Planning experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly rolling forecast, budgeting, and financial projection process across multiple business units and regions.
  • Develop and reconcile financial models and scenarios to support operational and strategic planning.
  • Partner with Operations and Finance leadership to align financial forecasts with business performance and organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate recurring financial review meetings with operational leaders to evaluate projections, budgets, and financial results.
  • Manage indirect cost methodologies and provide financial guidance for assigned business units.
  • Validate vendor rebate programs and support equipment-related financial initiatives.
  • Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reclassifications, and overhead allocations.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning activities.
  • Prepare executive- and board-level financial reports, projections, and presentation materials.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify key trends and variances, and provide recommendations to improve business results.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop finance and accounting team members.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives and influence key business decisions.
