About The Position

The Manager of Marketing & Communications is responsible for executing and managing internal and external marketing and communications initiatives for the health center, including the development of campaigns (e.g. public health, staff communications, fundraising, and community awareness), content creation, and digital engagement. This role reports to the Vice President of Development and Advancement and collaborates with organizational leadership and other departments to support organizational priorities, promote services to patients, and strengthen brand visibility among our stakeholders. This is a full-time position that will require a minimum of two days per week onsite in Worcester, MA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field.
  • 4-6+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and design skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing campaigns across digital and print platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms, email marketing tools, and content management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and demonstrated experience using design, photo, and/or video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Nonprofit, healthcare, or community-based experience preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit or healthcare settings preferred.
  • Media relations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Vice President of Development & Advancement to define and refine marketing and communications priorities, strategies, and annual plans aligned with organizational objectives and operational needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of responsibility for internal and external marketing and communications functions for the organization.
  • Develop and carry out integrated marketing and communications campaigns that reflect organizational priorities across print, web, email, social media, and other platforms.
  • Write, edit, and produce a wide range of content, including patient-facing materials, organizational communications, donor communications, website and email content, and social media.
  • Design and produce marketing materials using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, and manage external vendors (e.g., designers, printers, photographers) as needed.
  • Manage and regularly update the organization’s website and social media platforms to ensure content is current, accessible, and compliant.
  • Ensure consistent, accessible application of organizational brand standards, messaging, and visual identity across all materials.
  • Develop and maintain templates, tools, and processes to support consistent, efficient workflows, including projects initiated by other staff departments.
  • Promote patient services, programs, and key initiatives to increase awareness, utilization, and community engagement.
  • Draft and support leadership communications, including talking points, presentations, and external messaging as needed for speaking engagements.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving and Events, support fundraising efforts through the creation of donor-facing materials, including annual appeals, annual and impact reports, event collateral, and donor stewardship.
  • Track and report on marketing and communications activities, including qualitative and quantitative metrics, to inform strategy.
  • Manage day-to-day marketing and communications activities within budget parameters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Supervise interns or volunteers as needed.
