About The Position

Skyrocket Education Services specializes in learning for youth and educators, and we’re dedicated to supporting diverse and underserved communities. We provide the support schools need to improve student outcomes, enhance instruction, and strengthen operations. Our team specializes in three key areas: Student Services, Curriculum, and Consulting. The Manager of Instruction and Innovations' primary goal is to support Skyrocket in its endeavors within instruction and innovation initiatives. This position will create vision, enhance communication with clients, and drive decisions regarding curriculum services and curriculum platforms. They will also provide instrumental support to innovative projects within the Teaching and Learning team. This role is primarily REMOTE with a home office. It will require 20+ days minimum per year for in-person professional development and company events, located in Pasadena, CA. Leadership meetings may be scheduled as well for planning as well as team meetings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of educational trends, especially in the edtech and curriculum realms.
  • Ability to analyze data appropriately.
  • Ability to independently take initiative, make decisions, and work efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
  • Strong written, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite and LMS programs and the ability to use technology effectively.
  • Deep and thorough knowledge encompassing various aspects of ed tech. This includes staying updated on emerging tools, platforms, and methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills, while maintaining diplomacy, courtesy, professionalism, and a customer service attitude.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and coach a team.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Minimum 1 year teaching experience preferred
  • 1-2 years supervisorial experience preferred
  • Experience in curriculum development, services, and digital platforms
  • Experience with educational technology

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff.
  • Hires, develops, coaches, and provides ongoing feedback to staff.
  • Helps to guide supervisory staff in developing and maintaining project plans that align to the vision of the company as well as client-based needs.
  • Develops long term goals and plans to successfully launch and maintain curriculum platforms (including LYLA: Launch your Learning Applications) and curriculum services.
  • Makes decisions to maintain, enhance, and iterate the LYLA: Launch your Learning Applications platform.
  • Supports sales and marketing efforts of curriculum services and products.
  • Supports back-end services including helpdesk support, tech team, and wraparound curriculum services.
  • Ensures that high-quality products are produced and rolled-out error free and in a timely manner.
  • Creates, monitors, and assesses measures for effectiveness of services and products and acts upon the data to improve team deliverables.
  • Remains up-to-date on current trends and research related to education, especially in the edtech and curriculum realms.
  • Develops and implements a plan to elicit client needs, build service options, and produce/facilitate quality products and services.
  • Maintains an innovative mindset by constantly looking for ways to improve efficiency and quality of all services and products, as well as ways in which to reduce costs through partnerships and networking.
  • Looks for ways to network with possible clients through various means of marketing and relationship building.
  • Responsible for building, tracking, and maintaining department and project budgets on time and with accuracy.
  • Liaise with clients and consultants.
