About The Position

This position will be responsible for, and actively contribute to, leading and organizing innovation efforts and promoting conditions and capabilities in support of innovation at MyMichigan Health. The role will be responsible for identifying new opportunities for product, service, and process innovation. Overseeing innovation initiatives and projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives would be a key area of responsibility. This role will involve working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to generate and evaluate innovative ideas.

Requirements

  • NIMS IS 100: NIMS IS 100 Introduction Incident Command System (Within 6 months of hire or transfer)
  • NIMS IS 200: NIMS IS 200 Basic Incident Command System Initial Response (Within 6 months of hire or transfer)
  • NIMS IS 700: NIMS IS 700 Introduction National Incident Mgt System (Within 6 months of hire or transfer)
  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • Proficiency in business processes, innovation methodologies, and digital transformation tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Written and verbal communication skills are necessary to interact successfully with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization to share ideas, concepts and actions in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
  • Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
  • Overall vision and hearing is necessary with our without assisted device(s).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
  • Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering, and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care or performance improvement related preferred.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in innovation management, project management or strategic planning preferred.
  • Certifications in project management or innovation management is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage an innovation strategy that is aligned with the overall organizations strategic goals and objectives. Define and assess organizational skills and prerequisites for implementing the innovation strategy.
  • Initiate relevant market monitoring and fore-sighting activities, including search for new market opportunities and user needs. Implement and support an organization-wide idea management system including gathering, evaluation, selection, and implementation of employees ideas Participate in external networking activities, workshops, and conferences as appropriate to source projects and ideas.
  • Plan, execute and follow up on innovative initiatives/projects including developing project outline and plans in coordination with appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop appropriate metrics to measure effectiveness and impact of the innovation process and initiatives. Maintain an innovation portfolio.
  • Provide consultation on innovation tools to stakeholders in the organization as needed
  • Monitor and report on the success of innovative initiatives by examining involvement, progress, and challenges.
  • Assist clinical and non-clinical areas in leveraging learnings from various initiatives to drive system-wide improvements.
  • Participate in further learning opportunities offered by MyMichigan Health to stay abreast of technological advancements and best practices in healthcare innovation.
  • Employees need to demonstrate competence in Microsoft Windows.
  • Employees may be required to participate in further learning opportunities offered by MyMichigan Health.
