About The Position

The Manager of Infusion Products is responsible for overseeing the operational, regulatory, safety, and training functions relating to infusion medications and supplies across all UCBC locations. This position focuses on overseeing inventory management, regulatory compliance, staff education/training, vendor coordination, workforce management, and operational efficiency to support safe, compliant, and cost-effective infusion services.

Requirements

  • Certified pharmacy technician license with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field
  • Strong understanding of intravenous medications, aseptic techniques, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining accreditation and USP 797 compliance highly preferred
  • Experience in leadership/supervisor role is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement, inventory control, and distribution of infusion-related medications and supplies across all clinics and satellite locations.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate inventory levels, including oversight of free-drug, replacement, and credit programs.
  • Monitor product movement, expiration, waste reduction strategies, and return processes.
  • Maintain oversight of inventory management systems and infusion-related infrastructure, including automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Analyze product utilization, supply chain performance, and cost trends; provide operational recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee training programs related to infusion product handling, storage, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure staff competency related to hazardous drug handling, closed-system processes, and infusion product workflows.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing education for staff involved in infusion product management.
  • Maintain training documentation and competency records in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to medication handling, storage, documentation, and privacy.
  • Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Oversee implementation and adherence to organizational policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy and operations leadership to identify and mitigate safety risks related to infusion products and workflows.
  • Support development and revision of policies and procedures to improve safety, compliance, and operational consistency.
  • Maintain working relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and supply representatives.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, operations, and pharmacy leadership to optimize pricing, contracts, and supply continuity.
  • Stay informed on new products, supply chain changes, recalls, and shortages that may impact operations.
  • Support evaluation and operational implementation of new infusion products from a non-clinical perspective.
  • Provide operational guidance and support to staff involved in infusion product workflows.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure infusion product operations align with organizational goals.
  • Exercise independent judgment in managing day-to-day operational issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adherence to UCBC policies and procedures.
