About The Position

The Manager of Impact, Engagement, and Belonging supports KIPP Capital Region’s strategic efforts to cultivate inclusive, community-centered schools grounded in belonging, well-being, and purpose. Reporting to the Director of Communication and Organizational Impact, this role helps strengthen authentic partnerships with students, families, staff, and community organizations while supporting initiatives that enhance engagement, connection, and organizational culture across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience working collaboratively with various departments in a fast-paced, growing environment, with 3 years of focused responsibility leading and managing cross functional teams.
  • Experience utilizing critical thinking skills in the development and implementation of school and community programs.
  • Understanding of working directly with students, preferably in the charter, private, or public school environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of regular business hours.
  • Aptitude to create and work within an inclusive environment that honors and supports a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives.

  • Prior experience working in schools and urban communities is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate family engagement initiatives across the region, including family advisory councils and school-based family organizations.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with families to strengthen partnership, advocacy, and engagement.
  • Support the development of meaningful family engagement strategies that align with KIPP Capital Region’s mission and growth.
  • Promote culturally responsive practices that increase access, opportunity, and belonging for students and families.
  • Partner with schools and regional teams to support student enrollment, retention, and recruitment efforts through strategic family engagement initiatives.
  • Help ensure inclusion, well-being, and belonging are reflected across family engagement practices.
  • Help elevate family voices by gathering feedback and partnering with school teams to improve experiences and outcomes.
  • Represent KIPP Capital Region at community events, civic organizations, and partnership meetings, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations that support students, families, and staff.
  • Support the coordination and management of partnerships, sponsorships, and community engagement initiatives aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for KIPP Capital Region within the broader community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align community engagement efforts with regional priorities and initiatives.
  • Support school and regional efforts to strengthen community building and inclusive environments.
  • Support the implementation of region-wide initiatives focused on belonging, inclusion, well-being, and culturally responsive practices that strengthen the experience of students, staff, and families across KIPP Capital Region Public Charter Schools.
  • Partner with regional leaders, school leaders, and culture teams to support staff and student engagement initiatives that promote connection, collaboration, and inclusive school communities.
  • Support school-based and regional efforts that strengthen community-building practices, relationship-centered environments, and a culture of belonging for all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects, committees, and working groups that advance positive organizational culture, inclusive practices, and community engagement across the region.
  • Partner with school leaders, culture teams, and regional staff to foster inclusive, student-centered learning environments that prioritize belonging, engagement, and academic success for all students.
  • Support the development and implementation of initiatives that advance equitable access, strengthen student engagement, and cultivate positive, culturally responsive school communities across the region.
  • Collaborate with schools to build welcoming environments where students, staff, and families feel valued, connected, affirmed, and supported through intentional relationship-building and community-centered practices.
  • Assist in strengthening school culture systems and community engagement strategies that promote collaboration, trust, accountability, and a strong sense of belonging.
  • Support cross-functional efforts that enhance the overall student and family experience while aligning with organizational values, equity commitments, and community impact goals.
  • Partner with Family Advisory Councils across the region to strengthen fundraising strategy, sustainability, and community engagement through best fundraising practices and operational support.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communication and Organizational Impact to identify, research, and pursue funding opportunities, grants, sponsorships, and community partnerships that advance KIPP Capital Region Public Charter Schools priorities and initiatives.
  • Support donor cultivation and engagement efforts through relationship management, stewardship activities, event support, and ongoing communication strategies that deepen community investment in the organization’s mission.
  • Lead and coordinate region-wide community support drives (e.g., coats, socks, school supplies, holiday assistance, and essential needs campaigns) that directly benefit students, families, and the broader community.
  • Assist the Director of Communication and Organizational Impact in the planning, execution, promotion, and logistics of region-wide fundraising campaigns and events aligned to organizational goals and community impact priorities.
  • Support the coordination and management of the KIPP Capital Region Public Charter Schools Volunteer Program, including engagement with both internal team members and external community partners.
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, communication, scheduling, and overall program operations to ensure a positive and mission aligned volunteer experience.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and reporting of volunteer participation and service hours for internal and external stakeholders engaged in volunteer initiatives and community impact efforts.
  • Support the development of systems and processes that strengthen volunteer engagement, accountability, recognition, and program effectiveness across the region.
  • Support the development of resources, communications, and engagement materials related to belonging, family engagement, and community partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communication and Organizational Impact on storytelling and communication strategies that highlight organizational impact and community engagement.
  • Assist with coordinating projects, events, campaigns, and initiatives tied to organizational engagement and culture priorities.
  • Support the creation and implementation of systems and processes that strengthen collaboration and stakeholder engagement across the region.
  • Monitor engagement data, participation trends, stakeholder feedback, and program outcomes to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with tracking progress toward organizational goals related to engagement, belonging, and community impact.
  • Support the implementation of operational systems, processes, and strategies that improve effectiveness and stakeholder experience.
  • Contribute to ongoing evaluation, reflection, and improvement of engagement initiatives and organizational practices.
  • Perform other duties as outlined by the Director of Communication and Organizational Impact.
