About The Position

The Manager of Engineering oversees and develops the regional transmission line engineering teams, ensuring they deliver high-quality, cost-competitive engineering services. The role also supports business development and company initiatives, which may include establishing business strategies and objectives. The manager oversees transmission line design and quality assurance and control, provides project oversight, and works with clients to maintain existing relationships and develop new ones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• At least 15 years of related engineering experience through consulting or working for an electric utility.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of managing project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Understanding of basic practices for evaluating engineering and design issues.
• Ability to develop, communicate, and apply improved alternatives and recommendations for the transmission line group, including structure, processes, and software.
• Ability to work safely and comply with safety regulations.
• Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with peers and clients.
• Comfort sharing knowledge freely.
• Ability to identify relevant metrics and apply them to the business, clients, and projects.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment or independently.
• Creative thinking related to engineering innovation and solutions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and highly agile environment.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving policy.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop engineering teams.
• Support business development activities and grow the business in the region.

• Oversee projects, including managing engineering scope according to technical standards, developing change orders, and maintaining project schedules and budgets.

• Contribute to company initiatives, potentially including establishing business strategies and objectives.
