Manager of Data Services

The Manager of Data Services will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation big data and data insights platforms. They will work with a diverse team of machine learning engineers and analytics professionals to define strategy and explore solutions for clients. This role requires strong leadership skills to motivate and innovate the team, as well as ensuring accuracy and efficiency in deriving business effectiveness from the data. Additionally, the Manager of Data Services will collaborate with the data science team to build services that effectively use data and insights.

• Planning, organizing, directing, and architecting solutions across finance, marketing, analytics, and product to build trust in data and deliver on a data-driven business.
• Developing and implementing data models and policies for data processing and usage across different verticals in the company.
• Overseeing and ensuring Analytics, Data Science, and product engineering teams can accurately and efficiently derive business effectiveness from data.
• Providing leadership and management to a team of data engineers, including unblocking the team, vetting their designs, and coaching them to realize their full potential.
• Working as an architect on a robust, reliable, and scalable data pipeline, focusing on maintainable cloud-centric performant solutions.
• Ensuring accuracy of data and identifying and mitigating recurring issues.
• Collaborating with the data science team to build services that effectively use data and insights.
• Translating business concepts into technical solutions that align with stakeholders' needs.
• Helping tune performance and scalability of big data applications while optimizing on cost.
• Helping create a strategic roadmap surrounding big data and analytics.

• Location: Edmonton, Alberta
• 40 hours/week
• Language: English
• Salary: $169,387.53 CAD annually
