Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
  • 4–6+ years of experience in nonprofit engagement, events, community organizing, or development operations.
  • Experience with donor management CRM, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong project management skills, including ability to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working in a mission-driven, fast-paced, collaborative, organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity-centered, community-informed work.
  • Extensive computer use, reading, writing, analysis, attention to detail, and ability to focus and execute job duties in a timely manner.
  • Regular, punctual in-person attendance at EMC’s office in accordance with EMC’s hybrid-remote schedule.
  • Occasional business travel.
  • Occasional long hours, including evening or weekend work.
  • In the case of work conducted remotely, the position requires reasonable access to phone, email, and video conference and a dedicated place to work that is reasonably free from interruption.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing donor and volunteer communities, peer-to-peer fundraising, or endurance/event-based programs strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the End-to-End Runner Lifecycle: Mastermind the "Team EMC" journey from initial recruitment and onboarding through the finish line and post-race stewardship, ensuring every touchpoint and runner experience is seamless, supportive, and mission-aligned.
  • Manage the execution and continued growth of EMC’s running and fitness program, including Team EMC’s presence at core races (NYC, Boston, Chicago, Big Sur, etc.).
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for runners, ambassadors, and team captains.
  • Support ambassador engagement and year-round activation, including refining program structure, expectations, and volunteer pathways.
  • Support and expand grassroots, community-led, peer-to-peer fitness and wellness campaigns.
  • Track and report on KPIs including participant retention, fundraising performance, and engagement sentiment to continuously improve the runner experience.
  • Act as a central connector between runners and grassroots supporters by supporting engagement strategies that deepen long-term participation and mission loyalty.
  • Support end-to-end execution for major donor and community events (e.g., MPower, Learning Tours), overseeing everything from RSVP tracking and vendor relations to run-of-show coordination, external communications, guest research and post-event follow-up.
  • Oversee mailing of event-related gifts, stewardship materials, and donor engagement packages.
  • Maintain strong community systems and processes that ensure supporters feel valued, informed, and activated.
  • Partner with Development Manager to support engagement-related data tracking and reporting, including participant metrics, event outputs, and supporter engagement trends.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen workflows, tools, and community systems over time.
  • Ensure supporter interactions and operational processes reflect EMC’s values of respect, care, and accountability.
  • Coordinate with Communications to support community-facing messaging, toolkits, and supporter updates.
  • Manage and build community through Team EMC instagram account.
  • Collaborate with Programs and Impact staff to integrate grantee stories and learning opportunities into community engagement experiences.
  • Maintain organized documentation, trackers, timelines, and shared resources across engagement workstreams.
