About The Position

The Manager of Clinics (Non-RN) is responsible for carrying out the strategic vision for their departments, aligning with the System and Department of Nursing Mission and Vision. This role requires excellent business acumen, analytical skills, and strong problem-solving abilities in complex situations. The manager must possess strong financial skills, including the ability to manage budgets and teams to meet organizational objectives, with experience in cost savings, expenditure controls, and efficiencies in healthcare operations. They are responsible for ensuring organized plans are in place for staff selection, evaluation, orientation, continued education, development, competency evaluation, and appropriate scheduling based on patient acuity. The role demands a visible leader with outstanding relationship-building skills, a demonstrated record of success in recruiting and retaining clinicians, and strong physician relationship skills. A patient-focused approach with a commitment to quality, safety, and customer service is essential, including responsibility for achieving patient satisfaction targets. Experience with process improvement, operational changes, and knowledge of continuous quality improvement management principles, accreditation, and certification requirements are necessary. Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively communicate with individuals and groups. The manager will participate in and lead hospital and department committees, demonstrate ability in developing and mentoring staff, and lead by example with highly professional behavior, personal and professional accountability, and decisiveness. They must be able to align diverse constituencies' needs and expectations to achieve win-win solutions. The role requires a customer-focused, collaborative leader with a passion for nursing, serving as a role model and coach for Service Excellence Standards and service recovery. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of progressively responsible clinic nursing leadership experience.
  • Licensed professional nurse in the state clinic is located.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Genuine concern for people.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept listener with the ability to interpret concerns.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly supervises and manages others in the performance of their positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certification in specialty desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for achievement of patient satisfaction (PressGaney and CGCAHPS) action plans to achieve targets for their areas of responsibility.
  • Participates in and leads hospital and department committees.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and mentoring staff and colleagues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
