About The Position

This role leads the vision, strategy, and assessment of CBT-specific career services initiatives. The Manager develops and implements innovative programs to enhance student employability and career readiness, utilizing labor market data and employment trends to inform programming and resource allocation. They establish metrics and reporting systems to track student outcomes, internships, and placement success. The position also serves as the primary liaison between CBT and employers, cultivating and managing relationships to expand internships and full-time opportunities, and representing CBT in high-level external engagements. Additionally, the Manager oversees the design and delivery of professional development programming, including workshops, speaker series, and mock interviews, and leads the expansion of CBT’s internship and experiential learning ecosystem. Collaboration with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and internal stakeholders is key to aligning college and university-wide career initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in career services, employer relations or workforce development, preferably in higher education.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, business or related field.
  • Experience engaging with corporate partners and senior-level executives.
  • Experience developing employer pipelines and career programming.
  • Proficiency with office software and scheduling systems (e.g., Canva, Microsoft 365 and Qualtrics).

Responsibilities

  • Leads the vision, strategy, and assessment of CBT-specific career services initiatives.
  • Develops and implements innovative programs to enhance student employability and career readiness.
  • Uses labor market data and employment trends to inform programming and resource allocation.
  • Establishes metrics and reporting systems to track student outcomes, internships and placement success.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between CBT and employers.
  • Cultivates and manages relationships with regional and national employers to expand internships and full-time opportunities (including CBT advisory boards).
  • Represents CBT in high-level external engagements, including interactions with senior executives and industry leaders.
  • Partners with University Advancement and alumni networks to strengthen employer pipelines and engagement.
  • Oversees the design and delivery of professional development programming, including career workshops (resume development, interviewing, networking, etc.), executive speaker series and leadership events, and mock interviews and career coaching initiatives.
  • Delivers presentations to student groups and classes on career readiness and professional development.
  • Ensures alignment of programming with employer expectations and industry trends.
  • Leads and expands CBT’s internship and experiential learning ecosystem.
  • Develops and maintains employer partnerships to increase internship opportunities.
  • Tracks, reports and works to improve internship outcomes and, if qualified, teaches internship courses.
  • Collaborates with faculty and department chairs to integrate experiential learning into curricula.
  • Works with the CDI to align college and university-wide career initiatives.
  • Ensures seamless integration of CBT efforts with institutional career services infrastructure.
  • Represents CBT on university committees and initiatives related to student success and workforce development.
