About The Position

We're looking for a Manager of Business Operations, Technology to serve as the operational backbone of our Technology organization. In this role, you'll own the planning rhythms, portfolio management practices, and operational reporting that keep a large, multi-business-unit engineering organization running with clarity and accountability. This is a leadership role from day one. You'll improve upon existing processes and systems that enable our technology leaders to make better, faster decisions. You'll partner closely with senior technology leadership to drive quarterly planning, portfolio governance, and cross-organizational operational excellence. If you thrive on bringing structure to complexity, love making data tell a story, and get energy from building repeatable systems that scale — this role was designed for you. Our Technology organization is in a pivotal period of consolidation and strategic growth following recent mergers. This role removes a critical single point of failure in our operations, frees senior leadership to focus on strategic priorities, and creates the operational foundation that lets scrum teams across multiple business units plan and deliver with confidence. You won't just maintain the machine — you'll make it better.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in program management, business operations, technology operations, or portfolio management
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience leading Program Managers or similar roles, with a focus on coaching, development, and performance management
  • Strong track record of building and running operational planning cadences (quarterly planning, portfolio reviews, executive reporting)
  • Expertise in portfolio management tools, dashboards, and data-driven decision-making frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable facilitating conversations with senior and executive leadership
  • Strong process orientation with the ability to design scalable, repeatable systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data quality
  • Clear, concise communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to drive automation, improve efficiency, and scale operational processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a technology organization undergoing significant transformation, consolidation, or post-merger integration
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery environments and how operational planning intersects with agile cadences
  • Experience with Say/Do tracking, OKR frameworks, or similar execution accountability models
  • Background supporting a CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar technology executive function
  • Exposure to infrastructure or platform engineering program management

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve the Technology organization's quarterly planning cycle from intake and prioritization through execution tracking and retrospectives
  • Manage the technology portfolio: maintain visibility into active programs, resource allocation, dependencies, and delivery health across multiple business units
  • Run weekly red project reviews to ensure at-risk initiatives receive timely attention, clear escalation paths, and resolution plans
  • Run monthly and quarterly operational reviews to ensure leaders have accurate, actionable data on program status, Say/Do performance, and on-time delivery metrics
  • Design and maintain portfolio dashboards, traffic-light reporting, and executive-ready views of organizational performance
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards across project and program reporting
  • Fully own all operational planning and reporting responsibilities currently handled by existing team members, enabling them to transition entirely to strategic program management work
  • Facilitate governance forums, planning sessions, and cross-functional coordination meetings
  • Partner with strategic program managers to ensure portfolio-level visibility into enterprise initiatives
  • Serve as a connective layer between infrastructure project work and broader technology strategy, ensuring alignment and minimizing duplication
  • Build strong relationships with business unit leaders and technology stakeholders to maintain trust in operational processes
  • Manage and develop direct reports, including project managers and operations support resources as the team scales
  • Provide oversight, mentorship, and PM discipline to project managers, raising the bar on planning rigor, stakeholder communication, and delivery accountability
  • Create clear career development paths for team members and invest in their growth
  • Foster a team culture rooted in precision, transparency, and continuous improvement
