About The Position

Delaware County Christian School is seeking a full-time Manager of Alumni and Parent Engagement. As part of the Advancement Department, the Manager of Alumni and Parent Engagement is responsible for planning and executing stewardship and cultivation of relationships with these constituency bases and serving as the liaison between the Parent Volunteer Organization, the Alumni Board, and Delaware County Christian School.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience with increasing responsibility in non-profit friend-raising fundraising roles, preferably in education, with a particular focus on volunteer management.
  • Experience in engaging constituencies and working with volunteers.
  • Record of developing and implementing effective engagement plans and achieving metric-driven goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for a diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess challenging circumstances and develop feasible solutions, which work in collaboration with leadership to implement solutions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, concurrent assignments, multiple engagement initiatives, and volunteer leaders.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills are essential.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with prospective volunteers, donors, and campus partners, interacting in person as well as by telephone and other electronic means.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple unique projects at once.
  • May be trained to use data management tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Google applications, and Zoom.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as warranted.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic support and ongoing management of comprehensive prospect cultivation, donor stewardship, and community-building event strategy and execution for all alumni and parents of the school, understanding that a vibrant, engaged, and robust team of volunteers is an important part of a strong alumni and parent communities and a critical alignment for the achievement of alumni parent engagement goals.
  • Provide vision, leadership, oversight, and support to the Upper School Parent Volunteer Organization and the Alumni Board by serving as a member of these Committees.
  • Plans, directs, and manages all functions of alumni, and parent engagement, including the development of special programming, events, and communications to improve and increase meaningful engagement.
  • Develops annual plans, goals for growth, and key reports to measure performance and return on investment of resources and time.
  • Creates, develops, and supports additional volunteer groups and initiatives to support Advancement and school priorities, including but not limited to Parent Ambassadors, Homecoming, and Benefit Volunteers.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with colleagues and campus partners across the school to support shared goals and ensure the integration of alumni and families into school programs and communications.
  • Bolster the strategic direction of the school's annual giving programs to alumni and parents, emphasizing financial support to the school and educating the community about the importance of annual support.
  • Manage a portfolio of alumni and parent prospects to cultivate and steward into the school community.
