About The Position
The Nursing Manager leads and empowers the nursing team to provide exceptional, patient-centered care through continuous growth and operational excellence. The role involves leading and mentoring Registered Nurses, overseeing clinical operations, advocating for patient and team needs, promoting professional development, and working toward unit goals. The manager is expected to demonstrate accountability, confidence, and superior communication skills, and to navigate challenges while supporting individual performance and overall unit success. The manager schedules nursing staff to shifts based on past utilization trends; assists with training new staff and developing existing staff; coordinates unit activities during a shift; directs, organizes, and assigns nursing staff work; assesses, monitors, and educates staff on patient care; institutes emergency procedures as necessary; provides nursing care to patients as needed; and measures employee performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of three years of nursing experience.
- One year of leadership experience.
- Arizona Registered Nurse license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certificate.

- Five years of recent experience in emergency department, trauma, or related work.
Responsibilities
- Schedule nursing staff to specific shifts, considering past utilization trends.
